Mission & History

Mission:
To provide holistic integrated behavioral health services to people who seek help for substance use disorders.

History:
SASI is a 42-year old Substance Use Disorder treatment center serving over 600 clients a year at its two sites: SASI – Chicago and SASI – Manteno (IL). It was established by Dr. Edward Senay, one of the world’s leading authorities in the field of addiction medicine. Since its 1976 founding, the agency has been continuously led by a strong and progressive board and staff. Long time CEO, Doris Reynolds, along with the SASI Board of Directors, was responsible for expanding the SASI legacy through the purchase of our state-of-the-art facility here at 2630 South Wabash and the addition of Branden House in Manteno, IL in 1994. The agency is a Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF)-accredited and Department of Illinois Human Services’ Substance Use Prevention and Recovery (SUPR) licensed facility.
